Project summary:
Collective financing (crowdlending) of a new biomass boiler, for a company specialised in the drying of serrano ham from Cantmpalos (Segovia, Spain).
Compared to a diesel boiler, it is expected to lower the heating bill of the company by 25% and will avoid CO2 emissions in the atmosphere by about 600 tonnes annually.

The company AUTÉNTICA GENERACIÓN DISTRIBUIDA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN, S.L. (AGDCL) is installing a 500 kW industrial biomass boiler, model LASIAN “Biocompact 500 frontal” for a new ham drying business located in Cantimpalos (Segovia, Spain), instead of the traditional diesel boilers used in this area. The boiler is installed in an outdoor thermal container, with cyclone to prevent the emission of particles, automatic ash collection, electronic control systems and hoppers, and is accompanied by a 46 m3 warehouse ready to store 30 tons of pellets. The installation is completed with valves, pumps, a hydraulic expansion vessel, hydraulic installation and electrical installation.
The company in which the biomass boiler is installed needs a constant heating system to dry about 550.000 hams per year and has appointed AGDCL to provide and guarantee this service. The boiler will consume an estimated amount of 492 tons of pellets per year.
The total cost of the new installation is €121.176 (+VAT). The crowdlending campaign is set to finance 50% of the installation.
Compared to the use of a diesel boiler, the installation of the biomass boiler will produce a 25% saving on the cost of heating for the company, and will avoid CO2 emissions by approximately 600 tons per year, compared to the oil consumption of the other boilers used in other drying companies nearby.
The ham drying company has signed a 6 years contract with AGDCL for the provision of pellets, at constant price and quality. Furthermore, AGDCL will handle all preventive and corrective maintenance of the installations, with a 24 X 7 emergency service all year long.
Guaranties of the collective loan:
The loan has a personal guarantee from AUTÉNTICA GENERACIÓN DISTRIBUIDA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN, S.L as well as 50% of the financed installations and the 50% of the economic rights of the pellet supply contract.
